steel ball hardness

Update:06-03-2020
Summary:

Steel ball hardness refers to the ability of the steel […]

Steel ball hardness refers to the ability of the steel ball to locally resist the pressing of hard objects into its surface. Steel ball hardness is usually expressed by HRC, and some countries use HB. We highlight the Rockwell hardness HRC:

HRC: It is a hardness obtained by using a 150kg load and a diamond cone indenter. It is used for materials with high hardness (such as steel balls). HRC application range HRC 20-67, equivalent to HB225-650
Below we introduce the normal hardness of some steel balls so that everyone has a reference:

1) Q235 low carbon steel ball HRC45-55

2) Bearing steel ball GCR15 HRC60-66

3) 420 stainless steel ball HRC47-55

4) 440 stainless steel ball HRC57-64

5) 304 and 316 steel balls below RHC26

Generally, the hardness of steel balls is increased by quenching.
